The 80,000-seat Lusail stadium will embody Qatar’s ambition and its passion for sharing Arab culture with the world. It is here that the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ final will be staged, with billions around the globe watching on. The design of this magnificent stadium is inspired by the interplay of light and shadow that characterises the fanar lantern. Its shape and façade echo the intricate decorative motifs on bowls, vessels and other art pieces found across the Arab and Islamic world during the rise of civilisation in the region.

The venue will become the centrepiece of Lusail – a newly built, state-of-the-art metropolis, designed specifically with residents’ needs in mind. Lusail stadium will write a new page in Qatar’s history, while paying homage to the rich past of the country and region.

Different from Lusail’s splendid design, Ras Abu Aboud stadium is constructed using shipping containers, removable seats and other modular “building blocks”, not only will this innovative, 40,000-seat venue have a remarkable design, but it will be entirely dismantled and repurposed after the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. Its parts will be used in other sporting or non-sporting projects, setting a new standard in sustainability and introducing bold new ideas in tournament legacy planning.

The venue’s temporary nature and clever modular design will mean that fewer building materials will be required than in traditional stadium building, helping to keep construction costs down. And with other projects reusing the seats, roof and other components of the arena, parts of the venue will be utilised for years and even decades to come. The stadium aims to achieve Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS) certification.

Dai Dung Corporation – Vietnam’s largest steel structure contractor is responsible for the execution of all the main steel structures of the two FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 stadiums together with main contractor – Hamad Bin Khalid (HBK).

The two stadium projects in Qatar are extremely special projects, when all four of the biggest quality management agencies in Vietnam are participating at the same time. High quality Vietnamese experts and engineers are selected and participated in 4 independent quality supervision layers.

APAVE started to participate in the Qatar projects from April, 2019 with the task of representing SC Investor (a company under the government of Qatar) to supervise the quality and progress of the fabrication of steel structures for two stadiums. APAVE team has 16 personnel, including a group of special experts and a group of NDT technicians, working through the Lunar New Year, overcoming the Covid pandemic. This makes the Qatar Management Board (SC Investor) extremely confident and satisfied with the service quality of APAVE.
